Extremely helpful tip for reaching the heroic item level cap. This allows you to que!

Everground's guide to hitting the heroic item level cap!

Hey guys. I have been playing hardcore since release (1 day 3 hours played at 85) and found out a cool little trick for cheating the system. Blizzard now requires you to have an AVERAGE item level of 329 to que for heroic dungeons. Heroics dungeons drop 346 and give justice points. Anyway, you are supposed to do normal dungeons to get 333 gear hence reaching the average of 329. But, my guild found a very nice way to boost your way there. I am not sure if they implemented this on purpose or what but the average item level uses ITEMS FROM YOUR BAG AND BANK!

    For example:

I was using the following two trinkets...

    Gear Detector - Item - World of Warcraft(iLevel 289)
    Skardyn's Grace - Item - World of Warcraft(iLevel 346)

I then bought the follow trinket off the auction house for 200 gold.

    Impetuous Query - Item - World of Warcraft(iLevel 333)

My item level shot up many points and I have still not equip it yet. It is just sitting in my bags and I can sell it later.

All my guild members can confirm this.

Helpful Tips for Reaching the Cap

-NEED/GREED on all 333+ items if it is your armor type. (Example: Rogue rolling on leather intellect if no one needs)

-BUY ALL 333+ items from rep vendors if it is your armor type. (This alone will get you 90% of the way there if you quested to 85)

-BUY CHEAP ITEMS ON AUCTION HOUSE and sell them back later

Anyways, I hope this helps. Heroics really arn't as hard as people think besides SFK. Just use sap, sheep, and take your time.

    Have fun!

Confirmed, but it is more of an exploit.

Gotta make a correction though, melee dps can't need on int/caster gear, but can need on tanking rings/neck/trinkets.

This trick will work on items that aren't in your armor class.

I am not sure. I am curious myself. Either way, farm those heroics now!

This is how it's always been I believe. It takes the best gear in your inv.

Yea, it takes the better gear. BUT *should* ignore the gear that won't be of benefit, like tanking gear if you're a caster.

Or be in bear spec, but the average item level includes your tree gear as well. So it's working, just not entirely as intended.

Would be bad if they only counted only the gear you have equipped, since people need to swap gear to get to hit/expertise cap, or way over the cap.
