Potion of Treasure Finding: Gold Grind +/- 1500g-2500g per hour.

Hi there,

Today I found a nice way to grind some gold. I got roughly 3000g per hour from it, depending on server prices. There are better ways to grind gold, but if you dont have gathering proffesions like me, this might help.

We are gonna farm big packs of mobs in Deepholm, with a Potion of Treasure Finding buff (Potion of Treasure Finding - Item - World of Warcraft).

The mobs we are after:
Jaspertip Swarmer: Jaspertip Swarmer - NPC - World of Warcraft
Stone Bat: Stone Bat - NPC - World of Warcraft

They respawn quite quickly, only takes about 20 seconds to find a group, they roam around alot.
They are easily AoE'd down, as a Shaman I only needed a Magma Totem and 1-2 Fire Nova's.

Here's a list of items that I got after 1 hour.
-31 Tiny Treasure Chests.
-110 Embersilk Cloth.
-26 stacks of gray junk.
-18 gray weapons/armor.
-12 Greens.
-1 Blue BoE (Electrospark Heartstarter)
-61 Toughend Flesh

The Chests contained:
-90g
-144 Embersilk Cloth.
-8 Volatile Life
-12 Volatile Earth.

Thats in total about 13 stacks of Cloth which sells, on my server, for 140-160g/stack.
The greens, disenchanted, sells for about 200-400g.
The junk vendored for about 60g.
The Volatiles for about 600g.
The BoE sells for over 1000g on my server, but I was just lucky I guess.

In one hour I made roughly 4500g.

This needs some more testing to get a good average gold/hour. My statistics are for only 1 hour. Happy farming!

Edit: Added a video for my favourite grindspot. With current prices and the reduced Embersilk drops from trash, I still make an average of 2000g/hour.

Today I found a new spot in which this method can still be fairly profitable. Its in Vashj'ir. Our target mob is Azsh'ir Soldier (Azsh'ir Soldier - NPC - World of Warcraft) this time.
These mobs become available after you've done the quest Swift Action - Quest - World of Warcraft. (The ally version is named the same).
These mobs have 37k HP. And are grouped up tightly together. You can pull them one by one (the others wont aggro), or if you are a good AOEér, pull big groups. They respawn really fast, like 1 minute.

I got this after 1 hour of farm. Im not a tailor. With my current AH prices i can still get roughly 1000g/hour. P.S. Sorry for the large pictures, if any admin can make em smaller then please do cause i have no idea how xD.

Seems like a nice method, although, how would you get this potion? Is it cheap or do you have to make it yourself?


edit: It was empty on ah and my alchemy is just 500 so ill have to wait i guess :/

nice find, worked for me as well xcept the cloth sells for 70g on my server so i sold for 55 for quick sale. Volatiles as well go for about 30-50g a pop, lol what server you on

this still works somewhat, but the drop rate for the cloth is nearly what it was a couple days ago, usually in 30 min i have 4+ stacks of embersilk, now i have 1.5, also the amount of treasure chests have went down a bit as well, i still got like 7. Hopefully maybe i just in at a bad time, can someone else confirm their findings?

Oh also i dont nearly get as much toughened flesh from the bats anymore.

It's compley RNG based. Sometimes I get 20 chest, Sometimes i get 5. I've done this a total of 5 hours, and I've never made under 1500g, and I maxed out at 4500g, due to finding a blue that sold for 1k and also getting my highest chest count (20)

Just spent an hour farming on my druid (full potion duration) Got about 15 chests.

5 stacks of silk. and 14 greens. This is an effective way of Silk farming in my opinion. Currently on my server silk is 150 a stack. I didn't get nearly as lucky as OP. But i level'd my mages alch and just had to give it a try :P

The usual run for me, with 92 bagspace available, is ~10 stacks of embersilk cloth, ~10 various volatiles and ~10 greens and about 200g worth of gray items. The run takes me approximately 50 minutes, and the last 10 I use on posting what I farmed on AH.
So far no one has noticed this on my server, and all the stuff you grind is very high demand, making this not only a good income but a very steady one of a kind.

I might be really unlucky, and not all my auctions have sold(hpynotic dust has been undercut to 17g so waiting on that) but here's my breakdown of a 1 hr run.

80g from loot
140g from trash
6 stacks of embersilk(and a incomplete stack of 13)=800g
9 volatile fire= 230g
4 volatile air=200g
1 volatile water= 18g
5 greens de'd= 250g

So that comes to 1498g, right where you said ppl might get around. Ofc not all my auctions have sold. What surprised me is I had quite a few of treasure chests. There were around 20 that i opened. Is that a high number or chests? I wonder if I was just unlucky.
