Hunter - Easy Pet XP

Hi MMowned, been a while since I posted something, but now I have found something that might be of use to some people (I hope ).

As you all know with the latest patch, XP gains were added for gathering herbs and ores. These gains also work in a party.
So what about the Hunter - Easy Pet XP I hear you asking ...

Well, yesterday I found out that the XP from gathering is also transferred to your pet (as a Hunter) if your pet is active.

"Why would this be usefull then?" I hear some people ask.

Well, as a lvl 80 Hunter when you go and get a new pet, it starts 3 levels below you and this can in fact be a pain to level.

With this method, you can have your pet with you on your daily farming routes and by the time it can come along to a dungeon or raid, you won't have to fear being ridiculed for not having a lvl 80 pet.

In Scholazar my pet gained around 2700 xp from me gathering a Tiger Lily.

So to all you Hunters out there with a gathering professions, go farm farm and farm and your pet will be 80 in no time ;-)

Ty for the tip i always hated leveling new pets this will make it alot easier. +rep i didn't even know that u got xp from gathering i guess i should read patch notes more closely lol

I spent an hour farming Saronite, Rich Saronite, and Titanium veins in Sholazar with a level 77 bear (Me being 80) that I recently tamed. He has never been used in a fight other than a target dummy for quick happiness gain. He is still at 0/81870 experience after mining and avoiding all conflict. Sadly this does not work . Another note is that they are 3 levels below now, not 5.

My jewelcrafter thanks you though, I've been too lazy to go farming, and this motivated me enough to go farm some ore.

@SuddenlyBRAINS: Changed the level difference (noted it too as I just tamed a new pet). With the new pet I'll retest (don't have mining though) for herbalism (would be strange though if it doesn't work for mining.

Do you let your pet appear as you are herbing? As in, do you land and right click the herb, and the pet just loads a few seconds into the herbing? Or do you stop, dismount, let the pet summon, and then herb? No matter what I do, I don't get exp with a freshly tamed -anything-.
