Easy 1-450 Fishing and Cooking before Cataclysm

Here is a small guide I have written of a very easy and fast way to level up cooking and fishing to 450, with very little effort.

This guide will make use of the Pilgrims Bounty event, and the fishing bot - MrFishIt, tho the fish bot is not nessecary, it will be alot less time consuming for you, as you can leave it on over night, or when you are watching a film etc.

There are 3 Parts to this guide, the fishing, the cooking and the finish up!

    The Fishing

Use MrFishIt to level up fishing upto a skill of around 325. You can do this anywhere you want, although some places are riskier than others.

Remember to train your fishing skill as you level.

    Apprentice 1-75
    Journeyman 50-150
    Expert 125-225
    Artisan 200-300
    Master 275-375
    Grand Master 350-450

My advice, if you are 80, is to go to Pit of Saron, or Wailing Caverns and fish in the waters in the instance. In there, you will be out of sight of other players, and you do not need to clear any mobs to reach fish-able water. Leave the fish bot on overnight, and use the addon lootfilter to filter out all the crap.

Wailing Caverns might be a better option, as there is a market for Deviate Fish.

Keep fishing anywhere until you are level ~325 fishing.

FROM NOW ALL, KEEP ALL THE FISH I MENTION

Alliance: Valiance Keep in Borean Tundra and fish from the dock area.
Horde:Vengeance Landing in Howling Fjord and fish from the pier by the fishing trainer.

You will need to catch a total of: 20 Darkwater Clam (open to loot the clam meat), 39 Borean Man O' War, 40 Imperial Manta Ray, and about 100 Rockfin Grouper.

You now have (almost) all the fish you need for max level cooking.

    The Cooking

We will use the Pilgrims Bounty event, which is from November 22nd until November 28th.
If need infomation about the event, please go here.
This page gives you all the info you need to level up your cooking to ~350, and has all the quest info and any other info you will need.

Once you have done the quests, killed some turkeys and your cooking is at ~350 - go to a cooking trainer in northrend, with all your fish and train the following as they become available.
    Smoked Rockfin,
    Baked Manta Ray,
    Dalaran Clam Chowder,
    Black Jelly.

Cook all the Rockfin Grouper into Smoked Rockfin. Your cooking skill should rise to about 375.

Then cook all the Imperial Manta Ray into Baked Manta Ray, and Succulent Clam Meat into Dalaran Clam Chowder. Each Clam Chowder uses 2 clam meat. Your cooking skill must rise to at least 400, probably about 405.

Then cook all your Man O' War into Black Jelly. Each Black Jelly uses 3 fish. This should take your cooking skill to about 415.

    The Finish up!

Now you have only 35 more levels until you max out cooking.

Do the daily cooking quest each day to get your northrend spices, and dalaran cooking awards. Use your cooking awards to purchase a recipe of your choice. I recommend a recipe which uses fish and spice only.
You can fish the required fish, then cook it until you reach 425.
At 425, you have 3 options.

    1. Keep cooking your Recipe of choice until 450
    2. Wait until cataclysm for more 425+ trainer recipes
    3. Learn how to cook Gigantic feast or Small feast, farm the mats, and cook until 450.

Your fishing will probably be around 350-375 by the time you have come this far.

Simply fish anywhere until you reach max skill.

Congratulations on Maximum Fishing and Cooking, just in time for Cataclysm!

MrFishIt has been updated for 4.0, but "at the moment it is restricted to the ones who actually give something back to this site, wether it is quality posts, programs or help to other user OR donations to keep the site running."
The download can be found at http://www.mmowned.com/forums/news/shared/ for those with the rep/status/whatever.

Quoting myself: "tho the fish bot is not nessecary, it will be alot less time consuming for you."

Hopefully it will become available for everyone before the 22nd, and if not, well there are other bots out there, or you can do it the old fashioned way!
Plus, you won't actually need to do any fishing to reach the 350 cooking. You can always level to 450 cooking, and 1-450 fishing AFTER pilgrims.

It is also available to the public.
All credit for the bot goes to Nesox!

Leveling 1-450 requires about 2700 successful catches, around 11hrs of fishing.
Unfortunatly Mrfishit can't train for you.

    50-75: Journeyman - 30 min
    125-150: Expert - 50 min min
    200-225: Artisan 1hr 20 min
    275-300: Master. 2hr 10 min
    350-375: Grand Master. 3hr min
    375-450 3-4hrs.

I have just estimated, but I think its pretty accurate.

As soon as you get to 350, train grandmaster, then leave it on over night, and when you wake up (assuming 8hrs sleep) you should have max fishing.
I have dual screen, so I watched films while having wow on my 2nd screen, and just trained when I got the good enough level.
When I hit 350, I left it on over night. Unfortunatly I DC'd so only got to 418 :P
