[Minor tip] Lag in Dalaran since 4.0.1? This is what causes it/how to reduce it

Some people are stuttering badly in Dalaran for 4.0.1, even though their pc should easily be able to handle it, and they never had lag before 4.0.1.

What I found is, that it only lags while being close to, and more importantly: facing your camera to busy places. My "fix" for this has just been pointing my camera to low visited places or the air.

Most people most likely don't care about this topic but I guess it's a nice handy tip for the ones experiencing lag :3

I've heard that people affected by this are mainly ATI users. I myself use ATI and if I look down in Dalaran my graphics are fine, as soon as I look up (as in straight ahead) everything gets jumpy. Really pissing me off since I have a monster PC

Could be right there. I'm also using an ATI.

hey yea i have this laag in dala to before the patch i hat no laag on highest graphics settings but now it laags i use a NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 ... but +rep it work to look in the air or a place there no players

I also have an ATI. I wonder if there will be a fix for this? My comp is more than capable to handle dal in ultra settings, but now i can barely set foot in it.

The new WoW Client continues to stream hotfixes (minor updates) to the game when you log in. They've been adding them pretty frequently. I thought there was something wrong with my computer too when I was running around choppy in Dalaran but when I left my computer for about 15 mins the downloading finished and I was at full speed again.

That was my problem anyway. It probably finished quicker for me since I'm on a college campus using their massive download speeds.

I was getting stutter... GTX275 --- but I just took the check out of the box "enable out of date addons" and stutter went away. Imo, most likely a majority of any lag people are getting is because of broken addons since patch.

With that being said, I have found that I am actually getting a higher FPS since 4.0.1 hit than before... even though improvement in graphics. Odd, but I am guessing Blizz just did a lot of basement work on their code and optimized it a bit better for these newer video DX10 and 11 video cards.

Only in dalaran lol ? u can be happy ... we get wow freeze when i go into dungeon, at HH if i just put my mouse on the pumpkin, in the battlegrounds when someone pickup flag i freeze for like 2 minutes ...

NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT (MacBook Pro) I get some serious lag in crowded places. Not to mention that sometimes people don't even load on my screen :P what a nightmare eyy..
