HEROIC hallion loot from regular hallion.

This is an exploit I found last week with my guild in the 25 man version of Hallion in the Ruby Sanctum, we were surprised to say the least.

What we did was have the instance set to heroic as we cleared all the trash and first 2 mini-bosses, after you have killed the last mini boss you must switch the difficulty of the instance from heroic to normal the moment you drop combat. Hallions RP will bug out, and it will look as if he appears twice. Engage and kill Hallion as normal, and he will drop the heroic (284 ilvl) loot. We have only had this happen once, by accident and have no experience attempting this on 10 man.

We did not attempt to bug the encounter again this week, but I thought I would make an account and share.. as for some reason my old account has no posting privileges.

I do not have screenshots, But I do have the armory of characters in my guild with heroic loot and no heroic hallion achievement. I won't post these, just due to privacy but even if I did have a screenshot it wouldn't serve as evidence because we could have easily changed the difficulty of the encounter after we had killed Hallion.

EDIT: Here is a cropped screenshot of one my my guildies armorys. It shows him receiving the heroic loot, and the regular kill of hallion immediately prior.

as he bugs out during the roleplay, do you have to 1shot him for this to work?

Same question. I guess you need to kill it in 1 pull and dont let him reset

We tried this today, didnt work.

However we had a wave of adds spawn from last boss AFTER the boss died.

So, Killed boss > No Combat > Switched Normal> Adds Spawned > Combat > Hallion Spawned.

Might have gone wrong but we will try again next week.

To clarify, we did kill it the pull after the RP bugged to get the heroic drops, and we did not experience what neonic did with the last mini boss spawning extra adds on death.

How could you turn it to normal mode right after combat? We got a timer saying we couldnt switch difficulty for 50 some seconds, so we couldn't do the glitch this week

Ditto....not enough time to switch back to normal

A few people got banned for doing this last week. Their loot was removed & each raid member received a 24 hour suspension.

I believe it also may have been hot-fixed already.

Someone on my server claimed to have done the exploit last Tuesday in the A.M. before resets/server maintenance, and how he did it is a 'secret'. Anyone know what this guy is referring to?
