Twinking in a Non-Twink Bracket.

What you do (assuming you want to lvl 60 twink) is to not upgrade your account to BC. Turn EXP gains off, and turn on the Blood Crusade trial found in account management. Do some level 60 dungeons in Blood Crusade, and get friends to run you/do quests for badass gear. Now put the Blood Crusade enchants (and gems) on your gear. Basically as everyone knows Level 60 BC gear > Level 60 Vanilla gear. Plus, you get enchants, and gems which aren't even available in Vanilla.

Now, when your trial is done, turn exp gains back on. You won't gain any levels since Vanilla accounts are unable to get past level 60. You can twink at the top of your Alterac Valley bracket with the normal toons, and roll face. Have fun.

(Note: can also be done with WOTLK)

The main point was to use the free trial so that you could get the outlands gear, and gem your stuff, then come back and "twink" with higher level gear than you should be using.

By locking your xp, you will be put in a different bracket of players than people who haven't locked their xp. So, You'll be a twink, never leveling up past 60, with a bunch of non twinks who don't have as much gear compared to those that would if you lock your xp. (To clear some misunderstandings here)

Turn EXP gains off,"..... you cant lvl past 60 with a tbc trial, you just stop getting xp exactly 1 xp before you lvl up, and you can simply go in AV and everything getting tons xp but you wont lvl up...

I did this a long time ago, around the time of the luaninja banwave. And what the hell is "Blood Crusade"?

Several other people did this as well on my battlegroup, some alliance guild on dethecus full of lvl 60 twinks, one of which had wotlk professions (he could train it when it was bugged). I ensued death threats and complained to blizzard about it. He got all his wotlk enchants and gear removed. I was happy

Why would you need to lock your exp? You can't get lvl 61 with trial at least if it's the same as WoTLK (can't get lvl 71)

There are thousands and thousands of 60 twinks with tbc gear in wow... this is not new thing and first of all, this is common sense, working as intented. But you can have some wotlk things too because you can downgrade your account with calling blizzard. For example, I have lvl60 twink on classic account with "The Explorer" -title. If you ask a GM, they say that you cant downgrade account, but just call blizzard.

Just to clear things up:
- You don't need to turn off exp if you activate BC trial on a classic account. You cannot advance further than 99,9% of level 60.
- You can get the BC stuff and still use it after the trial is over, including gems and enchants.

This has already been said but aside of that the whole point in this thing is that if you use a classic account you can turn exp gain on and won't advance in level, so 60 is maximum, BUT you will be in alterac valley with all the people who turned their experience on. This means that you will be playing mostly with people who have crappy classic gear. If you are using an account with more than just classic you would gain experience and advance in level while doing this so if you want to use BC gear you would have to turn experience OFF and then you would play on a different battle ground.

To make things short:

Classic account --> Experience on --> Trial to get some BC gear, gems, enchants, etc --> rock alterac valley with experience turned ON and you will face crappy geared toons

Any other account with expansions --> Need to turn exp off or they will advance -> They have the gear but will NOT face you with the classic account as their exp is turned OFF
