GCD hack on 3.3.5a live servers with VIDEO/combatlog proof

After being spoiled by the GCD bug in Quicktrack (a tracking hack made by Apoc), I went looking for another GCD hack that worked on live servers. I managed to find one, made by Deathsoft. This one seems to modify the spells database with an additional MPQ, so its permanently hacked until you remove it. It also kills the GCD of physical abilities. The GCD won't fire but Blizz servers hard-coded a minimum of 1 second worth of GCD between abilities. If you're playing on a private server with no GCD checking, you can do machine gun instants, but that doesn't belong in this section.

Combat logs are not client side, they're server side, along with the timestamps. It's also pretty damn impossible to fit 30% more spells in a given time if it -were- client-side unless you could manipulate the time-space continuum somehow.

What benefits does this have? Faster instant DoT application, faster instant HoTs, and if you're a non-rogue/cat melee (since they already have 1 sec GCD), tighter chaining of physical abilities which leads to more filler spells (hunter Steady shot, pve arms warrior slam, shaman quicker reaction to 5 x maelstrom procs) and tighter ret paladin/death knight rotations.

edit: I used an earlier patch to change my login screen to the vanilla login because I like it over the wotlk login screen. Has nothing to do with the GCD hack.

WoW must be closed first in order to apply the hack.

another editL: Although the GCD hack reduces the client side GCD to zero, the blizz server still enforces a minimum of 1 second for GCD durations. You can get a true zero duration GCD if you play on a private server with no server-sided GCD, but that it not the point of my post.

yet another: I guess some people are having problems with their java to the point that they can't install the hack, so heres the one necessary file needed to enable the hack.

In order to install it without the .jar, save this file somewhere. Open your WoW folder, go inside the Data folder. In there, you'll find a folder with 4 letters: the first two are lower case and the last two are uppercase (Mine is enUS). Note them. Go in that folder, and extract the rar you downloaded from the link above in here. The file extracted will have an xxXX in it's filename. You need to rename it to the same letters as the folder name. Example: My folder name is enUS so I need to rename patch-xxXX-w.MPQ into patch-enUS-w.MPQ. The hack is now installed permanently until you delete that MPQ.

This is just a theory. I have no guarantee if it'll work for other regions of WoW.

I added download link. there was a download link in the youtube as well but the mods wanted a direct link. Just means i need to manually edit and reupload if it needs an update because wow got patched.

No. I used a side-effect of Quicktrack to reduce the GCD to 1 second without any ill-effects to my account around the time when it first came out. This was at least a month ago. If I was worried that this would get me banned, I sure wouldnt be using it on my main account.

Well the devs are wrong. It works for servers with a GCD check but to a degree. It's not the point of my thread to reduce GCD to zero. its to reduce to 1 second which is 66.66% faster than a non-hasted 1.5 sec gcd.

ty! also, I got the deathsoft GCD program downloaded, and when i run it with java, it just comes up with the black command prompt box and disappeares. nothing ele happense. isnt there ament to be another box confirming you want the hack to be done or somthing? plz help

Sorry, don't really know what to say. You need to have java installed and run the .jar file. That's all I can really say. I didn't make the hack, someone from Deathsoft did. I'm guessing the .jar is needed in order to set the correct region of the extracted MPQ (enus, engb, etc) but don't take my word for it; i'm just guessing. Visit the deathsoft page I listed in the youtube video for support.
