Abyssal Shelf bug

(Note,I did go through all the searches for "Return to the abyssal shelf and no thread like mine was found)
The quest,"Return to the abyssal shelf" Requires to bomb some mobs while on a gryphon,but if you miss a couple and you then start to fly away,you can alt+f4 (Must be at an specific location,see screenshot) and start up a new WoW,if all is done correctly the gryphon will be half way towards the abyssal shelf,so no need to keep flying back. If you alt f4 when your closer to the shelf you will be sent back to the quest giver,also slightly useful. I could not upload a video because the filesize was too big. Here is the fore mentioned screenshot.

UPDATE: If you alt f4 anywhere in the shelf while on the gryphon,it will take you back to the questgiver on login.

Is there anything useful about this? Does it work with Mission: The Abyssal Shelf? These things would be nice to know, because if it only works with Return to the Abyssal Shelf, it may as well be useless as there's absolutely no point to it. No reward or anything.

Yes it works with anything involving flying to the abyssal shelf(That includes mission:The abyssal shelf),the useful part is where it saves you time.

Wonder if it works with the Get kraken tournament daily in ICecrown as well? You miss one kraken, and are stuck on the preplot flight back then have to try it again and wait for the FP to complete again. Also the bombing missions in outlands.
