How to avoid Icy Grip before Blistering Cold. (Sindragosa)

Approximately after every second Frost Breath, while she is on land, Sindragosa will pull the entire raid next to her with Icy grip and start the 5-second cast of Blistering Cold. The spell does very high amount of Frost damage, so everybody should run out of its 25-yards range.
So here is the trick:
Look at the timer of Blistering Cold and when 2-4 seconds left 1 man must position himself as it's shown on the sreenshot. It's rather tricky to stand in the right place so no one will be griped to her (sometimes 3-5 ppl can be griped if you srewed to stand right) and all melee must stand as far as they can while they still can hit her


On the second and third screens you can see that all raid members still stand where they were before the grip

No it's not luck. I was able to repeat it 2-3 times in a row on the same pull.

i have had this happen to my raid, and we could not figure out how it happened, we just jizzed over it tbh..

There is nothing about positioning here.

In my guild, we've noticed if a Paladin uses Aura Mastery > Frost Resistance. then there is a much lesser chance to be dragged in. Especially if you wear frost resistance gear aswell.

This was only on normal mode. On heroic mode everyone get's gripped no matter what.
Even our crazy warrior with 430 Frost resistance pre-buffs got gripped in on heroic mode (Doing Shadowmourne quest on heroic)

I did notice that it is on heroic mode from the screenshots, im just saying that it is impossible from personal experience. Anyways, you can't prove it with some screenshots, you'd need a vid to do that. I've done sindragosa quite some times on normal and heroic with a couple of characters, and it is only on normalmode where you can resist the grip.

As you can see the date when i added screen - 05/17/10 and i was using the trick for about a month before i made my trick public to guild mates, now i'm sharing it with the public. So it's repeatable and fails only if someone stand close to her center that's why i pointed out that melee must stand as far as possible to avoid failure of the trick.

And i think it doesn't matter if it's heroic or not. Wait for Wednesday or Thursday and i'll try to make a video

Wow... I was preparing to flame the crap out of this thread for how sketchy it is. But in our 10 man, i tried standing inside her middle claw on her back right leg, and i did get this to work for the first two blistering colds. The third, I stood 1 yard in front of the claw and it didn't work. But it could be something with the melee's position on that one, it seemed to have some effect.

Anyway... let me do the honors of repping you out of leecher. I have no idea how this is working, but I'll also try to add a video if i can repeat it on 25 man.

I'm confused in exactly how and why this works u seem to conclude that its simply based on standing in a very specific location... Maybe we should try and investigate the reasoning behind the result and maybe provide a more direct solution to your glitch because, i unfortunately don't see how standing in a special spot allows the raid to avoid the spell entirely. I think there's other factors going on here
