    [Noob Guide] Increase FPS.

This is just a quick guide for people who suffer from bad FPS on WoW and don't know how to fix it. If this isn't you then don't bother reading

    Settings You Should Change:

Go into WoW and press Escape(GameMenu)>Video>Effects.

For Insanely High FPS, Change to the settings below:

    Settings You COULD Change:

Go into WoW and press Escape(GameMenu)>Video>Resolution

    Change to the settings below:

    Before and after:

    Before:

    After:

Thanks for reading my guide, even if it didn't help you, I hope it helped someone else

(I'm not quite sure what's up with my MS. but that has nothing to do with the settings I changed.)

(Yes the first image is a bitmap and the rest are jpeg, hence the quality change)

EDIT: JUST TO CLARIFY: Ignore my MS in the before after pictures. It has nothing to do with ANY of the settings changed.

Decreasing your quality of WoW will not decrease your ms.

Anywho, did you take the "tests" in the same place both times?

I never said it does

    And yeah, both in Shattrath

EDIT: I only commented on the ms so people didn't get confused that it changed that too. someone else must have been downloading something in my house at the time.
Also there was only such a dramatic change in FPS because i went from Ultra quality to Low in the effects tab.

This is a pretty rubbish guide to be honest. If it was a in depth look at each of the video settings and what they do then this would make sense. For example, tweaking the game so you only lose say 10% of your visuals and gain 50% performance.

Shadows, View distance and partical density are the most performance demanding options and will have the greatest impact on performance.

It wasn't made to be in-depth, sorry. But it was just for people with bad fps. I thought it was obvious that if the settings are too low you just slide the slider up more.

Actually for the most part you can, if you leave projected textures on and spell details on high. Spell detail is obvious, but projected textures means spells that appear on the ground (i.e piles of fire) will show up much clearer and more defined.

If you wan't to know what they do then simply mouseover them ingame...

Just as obvious as if you have bad fps you slide them down. Which basically equals this guide.

    why don't you?

Why thank you . Been gone since I took a WoW break but I'm back .

OnT: A detailed guide of video settings would probably be useful for quite some people. Might make it myself if I find the time for it.
    why don't you?
