[Tailoring] Gold Guide - UPDATED 1/5/10

This Guide is to reinforce, to those who have tailoring, how much of a money maker it can actually be and to inform those who don't have tailoring what the possibilites are.

    Introduction

    Greetings all.

It has been far to long since I last contributed to Mmowned, so I felt I should attempt to give something back that is of use to someone.

Now, I had quit WoW about 3 months ago and I have only been back for a week and have found that prices on the Auction House have changed considerably.

    Example:

Spellweave Cloth used to be worth : 200g
However, Blizzard removed the CD and now it is worth less than : 50g
My New Method - May require small investment

    To create Spellweave, one requires:

    For Moonshroud:

    And finally, for Ebonweave:

Note: The following prices, for the upcoming items, were averaged from 2 High, 2 Medium and 2 Low Populated Servers.

On average and from the Auction House, one could buy:

    Spellweave for 40g 70s
    Moonshroud for 50g
    Ebonweave for 44g 80s

However, one could also purchase a:

A Bolt of Imbued Frostweave for 7g 80s
An Eternal Life for 11g 50s
An Eternal Fire for 8g 60s
    An Eternal Shadow for 10g

    Therefore, you can create:

    Spellweave for:

    (2 x 8g 60s) + 7g 80s =
    25g
    Ebonweave for:

    (2 x 10g) + 7g 80s =
    27g 80s
    Moonshroud for:

    (2 x 11g 50s) + 7g 80s =
    20g 80s
    How does this help you?

Well, where WoW Professions Tailoring Guide will disagree with this, levelling from 450 to 475 creating Frostweave Bags can be a long and expensive process.

Therefore, you may find that players will spend money on the materials required for the early [EPIC] items and then sell them on. For example, the Ebonweave Robe.

    A step further

Note: The following prices, for the upcoming items, were averaged from 2 High, 2 Medium and 2 Low Populated Servers.

If you don't sell your newly created and cheap cloth then you can go that extra step and use them to create [EPIC] items yourself.

The Crusader Orb is a regeant used in most of the incredibly expensive items you should craft.

    A Crusader Orb went for: 137g 80s

    A Dream Shard went for: 5 50s

However, Patch 3.3.3 introduced a new vendor called Frozo the Renowned who will trade you a Crusader Orb for 6 Frozen Orbs.

    Frozen Orbs went for: 13g. So, 6 x 13g = 78g = A Crusader Orb.
The investment part really doesn't start until here. The cloths are cheap and easy to make, but the recipes are expensive with some exceeding the 500g mark.

The recipes I currently use are:

    Merlin's Robe
    Bejeweled Wizard's Bracers

If you don't currently have them then check your Guild Bank, raid and try and obtain one, or, if you have the cash, just purchase it out of the Auction House.

Incoming Maths Calculation of [EPIC] Length.

So if you create all your materials yourself, purchasing the required regeants for each individual cloth that are required for Merlin's Robe, it will cost you this:

    8 x Spellweave = 200g
    8 x Moonshroud = 166g 40s
    8 x Crusader Orb** = 624g
    8 x Dream Shard = 44g

A Grand Total of : 1034g for 1 x Merlin's Robe (Excluding price of Recipe).
** The Crusader Orbs were purchased from Frozo the Renowned for 6 Frozen Orbs

    Another useful tip

Every 7 days you can create the Glacial Bag. These sell for a vast sum of money, and people do indeed buy them.

Cost to create Glacial Bag, creating the cloth yourself:

    4 x Ebonweave = 111g 20s
    4 x Moonshroud = 83g 20s

    Total = 194g 40s

    Closing Notes

Whilst you sit there stunned at what you just witnessed, I will continue to find more efficient and effective methods of using tailoring as a money maker. THIS WILL BE KEPT UP TO DATE.

    Enjoy!

Sadly, as it states in one of my images, this is server dependant. Economies vary on different servers. If eternals sell for 16g it'll be harder for you to make a profit.

I'll add another part for those who have the same issue. A part that doesn't require special cloth in order to make money.
