As our BT/Illidan 5 man runs are a one shot everyweek we tried something else. After updating my tank gear a bit we went sunwell 5 man !

Sunwell:

Kalecgos is down !
After a few attempts we managed to down Kalecgos 5 man.

As it shows we are 7 players in party, netherwing = aggrobunny, dmarik = jolygoso, so 5 players, 7 chars.

The fight itself isn't that hard (imo):
What we use:
- 2 tanks (Feral Druid / Paladin)
- 1 Holy paladin
- 1 warrior
- 1 rogue
- semi afk shadowpriest
- an disc priest that only throws shields every 5min

What we do:
As most people know, this fight constist of 2 bosses.
Kalecgos (the dragon itself) and the demon inside the portals.

How do you handle both?
As we all start outside we just dps as much as possible on Kalecgos. When someone gets portalled inside, everyone, except the main tank (my druid) goes in.

So for a good 40+ sec I am on my own tanking him solo, so the healers has to make sure that tank is full hp. As we are using a paladin to heal this. Much more than my max hp I won't have for that time.

Inside: The paladin goes and picks of the demon, tank and spank.

Rinse and repeat.

We would like to hear from Mmowned if you guys have some idea's how to handle this fight.

How are we trying:
Atm we are doing 2 tanks, 2 dps, 1 healer. But this is a bitch ass fight to heal. Our paladin nearly never goes oom and here he burns everything in the first 2 mill.

We also tried:
2 tanks, 2 healers 1 dps, yet still we lost the battle.

Kael'thas:

As 5 man TK is fairly eazy, we still have not found any way to bring Kael'thas down.

The 5 adds at once is a pain, but we manage to get over it. However we seem to get stuck on the mindcontrols, we have our rogue pickup the dagger but it goes so damn fast that we get all mindcontrolled in 20 sec.

Anyone have any idea's?

Mate, I do not like your assumptions, if you have no valid point that we do, don't start saying it.
I can assure you we don't, we start and end these raids 5 man as that is our goal.

As you can see in the movie, we are only 5 players and we down Illidan with ez.

While I'm very impressed with your work and I take my hat off to you guys because I know how tough those instances can be at times and I have given weak attempts at similar things. - You need to realize that you titled this thread "5 Man Sunwell" in the WoW Guides section. You only really posted a quarter of a guide for 1 boss in Sunwell, the rest is just an image gallery.

Also in your two Kalecgos Screenshots you have 6/7 people in the raid not 5. Yes you did say "Afk shadow priest" and a "disc priest that only throws shields every 5min" that still counts at 6-7 people. You have full priest buffs, in the first Kalecgos screenshot it shows the shadowpriest still pulled like 2k DPS, which at L70 times was pretty much how much a sunwell entrance level shadow priest would pull if I'm not mistaken.

What you guys should really do if looking for a challenge, is make L70 twinks. Then see how far you can get with them. I used to lead a L70 twink guild and my guildies 3 manned half of kara at 70 and 5 manned the rest (without even being in full sunwell/bt gear). We 1 shotted ZA with 10 minutes to spare on a "za bear run" with 7/10 of the people never being there before". We nailed Gruul and his little council np with 15 people (I'm positive it could have been done with 7-10).

Magtheridon annihilated us and we never got to try T5/T6 instances.

Thanks and I completely agree with what you are saying. What I actually meant was that those 2 priest were multiboxed characters. So yea oke it helps etc.

* The titel was kinda wrongly chosen, I actually was planning on making a short thread about Kalecgos / Brutallus and started adding more and more. Anyone can change that?

* As for the guide its hard to alrdy write on the other bosses as we haven't made progress on them ourselves ^^' but that will come!

* As for your lvl 70 attempts, I'm impressed , however I would really like the first clear all content as lvl 80 5-man and bring it all out in 1 movie. I actually hate the leveling part of wow so we will prolly never try your attempts.

Running old content guilds and running old content in general is what I really love. Last year I was running the second biggest L60 progression guild (Yes we did use TBC/WOTLK enchants, glyphs, talents and spells - but we didn't use ANY tbc/wotlk gear/profession items like trinkets or gems. We cleared up to Twins in AQ40 and then moved to TBC when they moved onyxia and ruined AV.
The reason we used tbc/wotlk enchants and glyphs etc was because we were
* 5-7 manning ZG (20 man raid)
* 10-16 manning MC (40 man raid)
* 6 manned Onyxia (40 man raid on our first try)
* cleared BWL with 19 people which is still more than half of what used to be used.
* AQ40 we had about 19-23 people.
We also didn't get runs with higher levels for gear, anyone who PuGed got warned or removed from the guild etc - were very strict about that.

When we moved to L70 we became more of a twink guild with my leading raids for gear on my L80 etc because our main focus then was L70 rated arena - so we did kara and za and gruul etc on the side as L70s only for fun.

I might actually attempt to make another L70 proper progression guild soon, there seems to be a very large interest in it on my server and it might be something fun to do while waiting for cataclysm.

I also wish I was on your server / faction and I could join you for these 5 man runs, would be some great fun.

Thats just awsome, wish there was a lvl 60 raiding guild on myserver etc.
I really miss those good old days! Damn I still have my Nemesis gear on my warlock. I still am 'oh i came' when I see foredoomed play at lvl 60. And my favo. rogue Grim.

Those were the good old times, brings back so many memories. I think you gave me the courage again to lvl something to 60 and keep it there.

Well, if you have a lvl 80 left you can always server transfer!

Ye I have a couple of L80s, but the cost to server transfer and faction transfer is pretty expensive :/

I am actually seriously considering making a L70 raiding guild again (As in we start with heroics, kara move up to t5 and t6 content etc). No pugging, no wotlk gear ... maaaaaaaybe wotlk enchants, glyphs and gems - will have to think about that.

WOTLK Raiding seriously holds absolutely no interest for me atm.

Naa I'm afraid im too tired of L60 content atm. I spent months and months and months farming Zg, Onyxia and MC trying to get people ready for BWL and AQ40.

Would much prefer to have a L70 raiding guild. Leveling isn't that bad when you can RAF. for both my L60 and L70 guild I always had two account so I could RAF and level quickly (often power leveling) - I can do 1-60 in 14 hours powerleveled or less when I try hard. 60-70 is really easy for me now (I'v done it over 13/14 times now - plus if you level with another 2-3 people it's REALLY fast because you just grind instances.

Spent quite a while thinking about it, and decided that I am going to start a L70 raiding guild again. Do normal progression and then also try similar things as to what you are trying. Like trying to see how few players we can bring to certain raids, see how fast we can clear instances and other crazy stuff.
