    [RELEASE] TargetLock - Automatically face your target.

    Here's a small application I made in a spare half an hour called TargetLock.

    Compatible with the latest World of Warcraft, 3.3.0a (December 15th)

    As there was a request for it (in the wrong section, but regardless), I decided I'd pull some things together and make this a functional application. (Functional, mind you )

    What TargetLock currently does is:
    • • Face your target, NPC or Player.
    • • Make a sound when you select a new target.
    • • // Cypher disagreed.


    It's written in C# and uses Shynd's BlackMagic to read your memory. It also reads from just one WoW process at this point, and flips out if you're running two at the same time.

    There seemed to be at least some people interested in this when I read the thread, and I think anyone can find just a basic purpose for this.

    If there's enough interest I'll maybe extend it, and keep it updated for future patches. You never know.

    Credits fly out to Shynd, Jbrauman and Apoc mostly.

    the problem is that when you cast .. you say cool .. it is always facing ... but if you want to get space to your oppenent .. you say shit ... i always face him .. and all what i can do is walk backwards (which is realy slow) or can strafe around him ?!

    or am i wrong ?!

    sincery spud ... (*spud don't know why he "helps" ... he is not -10% interrested in this stuff [at least the programm stuff is interresting + attention whore])

    ps. to manage this weared sh*t add a define able shortcut to enable and disable autoaim - best would be autoaim as long button pushed down

    You're wrong, as long as you use your mouse to face away from the target, it overrides the keyboard turning, so you would not have any trouble to face away from your target and say, get some breathing space.

    Obviously you would notice the program attempting to turn towards the target. Additionally, you can also drop your target, the program won't do anything if it hasn't got a target.

    And regarding the shortcuts, I'm not interested in it. WoW makes it too easy, and in my opinion, keeping some key down for it to work is just rubbish, targeting and deselecting should work just fine.

    Of course, It works perfectly except it sometimes goes the wrong way but corrects himself right after
    Also when you disconnect it gives a Encounter error.

    Right, that's probably because memory reading for certain values fails or returns null when disconnected, I'll revise that shortly.
    I'm pretty confident that it turns the wrong way due to the time it takes to say, turn left would be faster than turning right, but that would obviously change if your target is moving, therefore its indecision.

    From a pvp stand point this has several applications, though I can think of some problems arising.

    Simple things may plague a melee class, like a hunter feign death, the pet auto attacks and gets targeted and your out a few seconds having to reorient yourself. Similarly, mage images could skew you for those precious milliseconds you have to spend to retarget. Also from an arena pov if your kiting a player around while using your mouse to look behind you I imagine it might **** you over.

    I would suggest a push activation which is bindable to your preference, so you could spam your melee attack of choice while going crazy on your opponents screen. Also for a caster you could hold modifier key.

    TL: DR - Needs a toggle or push activation

    My definition of out of process goes that anything which is not an injected DLL is out of process, by definition.
