What do you mean it makes no difference? The bots can put pokemon back in the gym faster than any real player on the app EVER could. They litterally cant EVER hold a gym if bots controlled them. If thats not a difference then idk what is...
But yes the botters have an advantage in terms of high cp pokemon, but a legit player with enough time could have the same, however, they cant put heal that 10cp magikarp that just died at the gym and put it back in faster than the blink of an eye.

Of course there are already gym bots, eventually anything is possible and inevitable but we are trying as a community to reduce the usage of these PoGo community destroying features. The best example i can think of is back when i was in the COD: MW2 modding scene, hack lobbies and infection lobbies did happen in the game but they were avoidable and not in every game you played, once the usb modding method was introduced allowing anyone with a usb and an updated ps3 with no mods or hacks to host the hack lobbies the community was destroyed completely, every game had one if not multiple hackers in it and there was litterally no chance for legit players to enjoy the game. This is going to be the exact same outcome for PoGo if this happens for gyms and eventually battles. Just my 2c and this isnt directed at you SparkBird just continuing the discussion.

Why should we stop botting?

I understand botting to catch more pokemon or raise your level but isn't making a bot just to get and maintain a gym crossing the line? One of the main goals of the game (at least for a lot of people I know) is to capture gyms. If a bot was made to maintain gyms at inhuman speed to place botted pokemon, what's the point of playing? You're also ruining it for all the legit players having to compete with outrageously strong pokemon. Shouldn't you care at some point?

once gym botting becomes common place ill just say farewell to pokemongo

I voted HEck yes! because:
1. gym battles are boring af anyway.
2. facerolling Gyms with your boted Pokemons is also cheating!
3. the game we play is called Botemon for a reason
if anyone have a Gym Bot PM me

The only reason I'm still playing on my legit account is because gyms aren't botted yet. Once they are botted I'm going to leave Pokemon GO behind because there is no fun in capturing a Gym then 5 seconds later losing it to some bot.
I think bots are out there.... my 3.5k dragonite got taken out in just an hour, & yes, i'm level 40

There were a few gym boys before the update. ( 2 of them were paid bots and 1 was only for small group of devs. )
I have never had a chance to test any of them.
