New OwnedCore RESTful User API [Lite]
Hi guys. We now have a nice way to grab/verify Ownedcore user data in a tiny API
Here's what the output looks like:
Code:
{
"userid":"867262",
"username":"SniffingPickles",
"usergroupid":"7",
"usergroup":"Moderators",
"signupdate":"2012-07-15 22:14:00",
"homepage":"abc123",
"reputation":"1537"
}
What is this useful for?
Say you're building some software and you want to offer some incentive to a user rank on Ownedcore, or you want to verify a person is who they say they are. Request the user updates their "homepage url" in profile settings with some text, and you can verify they are the owner of the ownedcore account.
How can I get the data?
This API data is available via POST method to the url:
http://www.ownedcore.com/spapi/
You have two options to send with the POST to get the data:
username and/or userid, with precedence to username. Only one is mandatory to search.
Any questions, or requests, I'm sure they can be accommodated. Hopefully people can put this to good use.

An example to dotNet would be awesome.

Just use a WebClient or HttpCllient post request for http://www.ownedcore.com/spapi/
and add a parameter $name=$value. For example username=King48488 or any other. The important thing is the POST thing

Hopefully this can become more and more useful to developers.
