Any good MMORPG in future?!

I've wondered about the same myself for years now, and every time some new and fancy game comes to dethrone WoW they end up flopping after a few months.

Would love to hear about games in development or any scheduled games that will be able to bring WoW some serious competition!

I play WoW from the beta, and I'm still playing, but I also visited other projects: WildStar, Black Desert, Legend of Kung-Fu, Blade n Soul, Tera, AA, Rift, etc. But all of them * Sux *, now 90% of MMORPG is the copypasta of the same Asian games.
I was waiting for the "World of Darkness" and "NEW EverQuest", but they were closed

It is absolutely possible for a company to make an MMO that will dethrone WoW. It doesn't necessarily have to be an MMORPG but any kind of MMO.
The reason this has not happened is because of lack of ingenuity and innovation. Many "WoW-Killer" MMOs have come and gone, the reason why they all failed is either because they were nothing but a rehash of the WoW formula or were just not interesting enough in their respective execution.

I also feel that another reason WoW is still on top, as far as pay to play MMOs go, is because of how Blizzard has evolved WoW over the years from being a hardcore type of gameplay in the earlier years to a much more casual one nowadays to cater to the existing aging player base and the changed player tastes(instant gratification) in newer modern players over time. This has helped them retain interest in the game.

I think Star wars the old Republic and Elder Scrolls Online and even Neverwinter NIghts The Forgoten Realms and D&D famous games Universe had good chances considering the big names and brands formed in time over years.
Tried them but yet i'm still back to WoW
As an old WoW player i think the Game itself was much nice / beautiful back in 2007-2012 and much worse now but i still consider it the best MMO out there.
Apart the ingenuity and innovation like Hackerlol said i think the new MMO games witch will try to go nr 1 also need a good name (take Rambo or Terminator or Die Hard in movies for example =)) !)
And apart the good brand / name ingenuity and innovation the game witch will try to dethrone WoW will also have others difficulties :
1) They need a LOT of money to invest in professionals designers / IT Analysts / Equipment / ect
2) WoW have friends and guilds formed over many years and they will not easily go for another game for to long when all their old friends are still around Broken Shore raids / BG's / Arenas in WoW.
3) Lets admit and lets face it ! WoW is like a drug for many players witch can't let more than a week pas without taking their favorite drug dose ( Not many cocaine consumers will switch to heroine / amphetamine , they will keep consume what they got used with =)) !)

No i don't think in next 10 years any MMO game will dethrone WoW

Star wars the old Republic - its P2P,
Elder Scrolls Online - hmm maybe. But the game was made simply on a loud name, and they do not try to improve it
NW Night - Session game. Like "only bg" in WoW
DnD - can't tell anything

1) True
2) Same can be in others games
3) Because there is no good replacement

I think there hasn't been a successor because there can't be..

In the sense nothing will ever compare.. nothing can replace it.. similar to saayyy.. ketchup or the Mustang..

There will never be another.. they've carved themselves a notorious legacy that will always be their own..

Time will tell when interest is lost from the source but until that day comes.. I don't think there's much else to it..

It's been a statement i have seen in trade chat since vanilla. The only thing that will kill WoW is WoW. I personally dont ever thing another MMO is going to dethrone WoW. WoW would have to simply COMPLETELY DIE (Not WoD Die) and than a new big dog comes into town. But as long as WoW is doing even mediocre in #'s I just cant fathom another MMO taking its place.

I have a theory that Blizzard has an estimated life span for WoW and are probably going to pop a NEW MMO out once they feel WoW is officially on its death bed. That way they always have the #1 MMO.

Some people say that the new final fantasy is really good but for some reason I just cannot ever get into Asian style mmos. They just feel off to me.
