    Is there a website or forum post help understand Block IDs?

    I wanting to learn and understand the mod config files structure going to attempt to make my first mod.

    Yes, I'm a Noob at this.

    Question.
    Can the Biome IDs, Enchantment IDs,Item IDs, Item Panel IDs, Block ID, Potions ID, and Gui IDs have the same number ID or not?

    Are they all in the same array?

    Example Own Array::

    Item ID array 1, 2, 3
    Block ID array = 1, 2, 3

    or are they in the same array and have to have a different ID for each item?

    Example Same Array:

    Item ID / Block ID array = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

    If you know any websites that can help me understand this please post them

    Thank you hope you understand my post what I'm asking.

    To answer your first question: No they do not have the same number and no they cant have the same number either. For example sand could have the ID of 4 if you make another custom block through a mod with the ID 4 it will crash so dont do that. If i remember correctly the pre reserved ids go up to 256 with blocks and up to almost 5k with items.

    Secondly no they are not in the same array. Each class IE: Block.java and Item.java have their own byte[] that carry ids for each Item being itemID and block being blockID

    To get some help with modding I would just check out minecraft forges website(assuming you are gonna mod with Forge and FML'forge modloader') otherwise if you are going to use just modloader please consider using ForgeFML its much nicer. If you are using bucket then for god sake end it all in the modding community because bucket isnt modding its scripting. If you need more things cleared up PM me im always around
