What is a Legacy Account?
Heroes of Newerth recently switched to a free to play model which allows players a limited selection of heroes and modes. A Legacy account means the account was purchased before the free-to-play model was released. This means anyone who didn't purchase an account before this change now must individually purchase each hero they wish to play similar to LoL (League of Legends). This is done either by playing alot of games to accumulate coins (time consuming) or buying coins outright with real money.


Why Purchase a Legacy Account?
To purchase out each hero individually would roughly come to $200 and that's excluding the great vanity items on offer. This is extremely frustrating for anyone who aspires to excel in this game as a limited hero pool puts you at a disadvantage and limits the way which you want to play the game. Being able to play and experience each hero in HoN allows you to act accordingly in a situation and setup specific strategies.
