Anyone want to work on a Tycoon Game?

I am feeling the urge to make a tycoon game in Unity. Just a side project to get some work in there, make a game to completion, get my name out and all that jazz.

Looking to see if there are any Artists, Coders and such that want to try their luck at it?

As soon as I figure out a good way of connecting to a database in Unity without using PHP then I will let ya know Pickles... There are a few assets on the store I am going to check out to see if they do what I want.

LOL well, I looked at what's there, and apparently nothing does what i want. so I am going to have to go with a heartbeat approach for saving data.

Somehow... So I did something really simple, just have to work on the encryption/security of it at a later date. Will need some kind of server/client version check I suppose so that I don't try to parse anything that's from an older version / incompatible one.

So next step, is just trying to figure out the best way to collect player data, maybe json it, encrypt it, then send it. not sure. And yes, this is PHP.

Edit: I wish unity would update to a better .NET version so we could actually USE the new connectors for MySQL

Alright so the basic heartbeat thing is there. Just sends data to a php script on a specified host every 10 seconds.
Alternatively, I could just make it so that I can call the save when I want to, instead of constantly doing it.

My concern with this, is that if you have say 100,000 people every 10 seconds sending data to the server, it'll get bombed and crash.

Abandoned this idea for now, had a brainfart for another game idea I would rather do, and could probably get it done faster....
