3. Use the demo code
4. Cancel the pre-order

Ah, that's great. I went to Firstlook 2014 in the netherlands and received about 10 codes. sold them all for 10 bucks each. ^.^

Why could that give you trouble? As long as it says nothing about using the demo code after you decline the pre-order there shouldn't be any issue. Also people have been doing this with amazon for years now so I highly doubt they even notice.
