Here's a article about some recent changes to the SWTOR game.
When working with the Star Wars universe it is hard to run out of raw materials. And BioWare shows no sign of lacking it yet.
In a recent update we found out that you will now be able to play as other races. Only three has been revealed when i write this.

First off is the Sith Pureblood. That is correct; for the first time ever you will be able to to play as this fallen ancestors of the Sith Pureblood.
The Sith had a natural symbiotic bond with the dark side. They feed on it and empowered it, deducing and perfecting procedures of the dark boundary through it, that were one time reflected impossible—such assorcery. Though they had a great deal of power, the Sith were not bound, and inhabited in tribal "circles", lead by one or more Sith sorcerers who were the cause for the protection and security of their people.

The second race that will be avaible for the fans and gamers to play is the Miraluka race.
Because of their binding to the Force, more Miraluka have been drawn to the Jedi Order. Miraluka Jedi struggled in the Great Sith War, and has aided the Jedi Order for centuries to come. In the waning days of the Galactic Republic, there were not only alot of Miraluka Jedi, but also a great deal of Miraluka, unsuited to turning into full-fledged Jedi, who served the Order as tutors and administrators.
Miraluka Sith were seemingly rare, as the species' own outlooks on life and the Force are are largely incompatible with Sith teachings. However, as with all who sense the Force, a plunge to darkness is probable with the Miraluka just as it is with any other.
Amongst the significant Miraluka was Visas Marr, the only survivor of the Devastation of Katarr and the companion of the Jedi Exile. Other Miraluka were Shoaneb Culu, a Jedi Shadow, and the Dark Jedi Jerec, a member of the Inquisitorius.

This last race might be giving you the wrong idea. Darth Maul is a part of this race, although his appearance does not reflect his race entirely. That is why i included two pictures.
As one of the earliest spacefaring species in the galaxy, the Zabrak played a major role in Galactic affairs. Like the early Humans, the Zabrak established many colonies outside their home system early in their history, such as on the planet Iridia. The Elomin species was believed by some xenoarchaeologists to be descended from Zabrak colonists who settled Elom in the distant past. By the time the Zabrak encountered the Republic, they had a total of eight colonies in five systems.
Thank you for your time.
