yeah that little bug is in the game since vanilla. Its pretty hard to get underneath a "small" boss. Try charging in the siegebreaker and he'll bug out too. I believe all bosses act this way, but some are just much harder to trigger than others.

Yeah, try it with Monk's Epiphany skill. You can usually dash inside of him and he will either do nothing or attack around you. Hard to repeat but I usually get it for a little while each fight. Not particularly useful, but makes life easier when it happens.
