OwnedCore Interviews: The Faces Behind The Names
    by Spazzer

    Interview 6: Moderator Sephirofl

You want to know who makes OwnedCore possible? I will be interviewing important figures from within the OwnedCore community. Find out who these dedicated individuals are while learning some interesting facts. There has been a slight change with the OwnedCore Interviews. There will only be a single interview released every four days. This will give community members an opportunity to ask the interviewee questions directly.

This weeks interview will be with Moderator Sephirofl

Seph- I - Roll - On - Floor - Laughing... er... What is your forum handle and how did you chose the name?
Well, it has ventured back and forth between Sephiorth and Sephirofl, but primarily it is Sephirofl. If it isn’t obvious enough, I obtained the name from Final Fantasy 7… I have always been a long time RPG player, and the Final Fantasy series has always been one of my favorite.

What is your real name and what do you do for a living?
My name is Zach, and I have two “jobs”. The first and primary being a Safety Manager in the Oil & Gas Industry. With this position, I enforce OSHA regulations, and perform field audits assuring employees are performing duties within safe working parameters. My other position, as many know, is Sephirofl’s Unban Service. I have worked on Unbanning accounts from over 50 various games now, over the past three years.

What is your history with OwnedCore and what is your involvement within the community?
Well, back in around 2009, I started using MMowned, and a few other sites on the web for botting, exploits, and other general activities to gain money and achievements in World of Warcraft. After being a long time visiting member, I decided I wanted to finally sign up, contribute, and work my way up the other members of the community. My first attempt at a contribution was a daily review of the Amazon app store free app of the day…. This was short-lived, and lasted two weeks? From that point, I really just tried to contribute on anything I could, and eventually expanded my business throughout this site and more. Due to the increase in service, I also had an increase of scam attempts against me. This lead me to compiling a list of scammers and banned users from many of the major gaming Sales and Exploit sites, in hopes to prevent other members of the community from being scammed.

Most people know you in the OwnedCore community but what is one thing they don’t know about you that you would like them to know?
I love charities, and any type of community service (offline) that I can partake in. A lot of money I earn from online activities goes towards various contributions I enjoy, and much of my offline time, I try to volunteer in any way possible. Lately, this has been harder with my new job, but I really want to get back to this.

What have you learnt from OwnedCore over the years? What is something that you will never forget?
Evaluate people before you trade with them… One of the biggest things I have tried to spread to people through my Scam list was information… information that will help protect you during a trade. Over time, there have been countless people whom have scammed me, or in my early days of Unban, made “promises” which were never fulfilled. From the time I started this service, until now, I have been scammed of roughly $7,200 USD. Before you trade… check yourself, before you wreck yourself!

HOLY SHIT! Wait, so you have lost over $7200?
Yes, over three years but that isn't strictly the Unban, but selling some items and what not also.

OwnedCore has such a diverse mix of cultures and nationalities where in the world are you from and where do you live?
As the great Remus3 once said… “'MERICA!” Where most people assume we are born with guns and cheeseburgers in hand. I only had a cheeseburger…

What do you think about the diversity of Ownedcore? Why do you think Ownedcore is so popular to this day?
I think this is the best contributing factor to the community. An area where players, buyers, sellers, exploiters, explorers, guide creators, bot developers, script writers, professionally ranked gamers, people whom don’t even game anymore, young, old, and god knows how many more words I could think of come to bond together for common goal… This is what makes the community great, and this is what will provide a wealth of knowledge for years to come.

Is there anything you want people to use more on Ownedcore? What would you like to see changed at OwnedCore?
As Aes said… The Rule Book, the Report Button, and Scammer list… These are tools put in place not only to help you, but to help prevent issues within the community. Report if you see an issue!

As for changed, I really would like to see more people be active in their posts, and try to eliminate some of the spam “cool.......” posts… I understand at times people don’t have much to say, but that is an issue I feel people have both on, and offline. Share your thoughts, and speak your mind.
The only other addition I would like to see on OwnedCore is more PS4 players… I only say this because I play PS4 all the time :P

What was your first game and when did you start gaming, what was your hook?
The very first game I had played was The Legend of Zelda. We got the original Nintendo years after it had come out, and I started playing this a lot. The first game that I would say I was “hooked” on would be Diablo… This was my first online RPG, and you couldn’t get me off the PC. This eventually merged into Team Fortress Classic, where I played a disgusting amount of hours… To this day, I have never played a game more than TFC… I played on 11 leagues, around the world while I was grounded one summer.

Gaming is a way of life on OwnedCore; are you a big MMO person or a more strategic relaxed player. What type of gamer are you and why?
I always have, and always will be an RPG player… whether it is MMO, or offline, I equally love them both. I would have to say I prefer playing with others online, but that could be as simple as four players over PS4, not necessarily the old 40 man raids I use to run. I love playing with friends, as that is what makes games most fun to me.

If you were not a gamer what would you see yourself doing, what are your other passions?
In all honesty, I can’t even fathom this as a possibility in an alternate dimension. I have played games since I was three or four years old. There has never really been a lapse in my 27 years where I have not played games. How I have explained it over the years is this… Some people read books for entertainment, some people watch TV for entertainment... I don’t do either of these… I play games for entertainment. If I absolutely had to pick, then it would probably be carpentry oddly enough.

Where can we find your besides OwnedCore?
Well, if I am not on OwnedCore, or at my real job, then you would easily find me on Skype or my email working on Unbanning people. When I get home from work, I pretty much hop on that until it is time to go to bed. If there is time to do something else, I pretty much work on my house with my wife, or I play PS4.

Who would you like to see interviewed? Who are you going to call out?
I know this is primarily Staff oriented, but in all honesty… I would LOVE to see some Legendary members be interviewed. Those members have been around as long, if not longer then some mods, and many of them have contributed an amazing amount of information… You often see more mods online then Legendaries… The amount of information these members have had to provide in order to obtain the ranks they have, has been a backbone of the community over the years. I call out sgurb as he seems like a mystery to me at times, but handles a ton of information people don't know about.

Who is your closest friend and foe on Ownedcore?
I would say one of the closest people to me would be Fisher… I have known him for years now. We have developed businesses together… and have spoken both about gaming / real life issues. He is a great guy to know!

As for foe… I honestly don’t have a foe… I don’t believe in holding grudges on people… The only person I would give a shout out to would be BSM. He also does Unbans, so of course we would be my adversary, but he also does a hell of a job of Unbans. I would never bad mouth him, as he is one of the few others whom offer a legitimate service. It is up to everyone else to determine whom is the Light or Dark side

Mac vs PC: The Final Battle. What do you use; Mac or PC?
PC dominates “He who shall not be named”… If I felt like throwing away a few extra hundred dollars on a system which is limited in gaming, and upgradability… I would pay someone at a casino to punch me in the balls, and take the rest of my money… I create my own PC’s, and I can always put together a better machine, for half the price…

Is there anything else you would like to add to this interview or information you would like people to know?
I always have, and always will cherish being a part of this community. It is an amazing source of knowledge, and support in ways that many don’t know. As I mentioned, I donate portions of my income to real life charities… so in a way, this community has helped with many charitable organizations indirectly. I know there are many others whom do the same thing, and I think that is phenomenal.

    Game… Explore… Post…
